It’s often mistaken for a urinary tract infection (UTI), but there is no infection.
Symptoms include bladder and pelvic pain or pressure and a frequent urge to urinate.
Painful bladder syndrome is often difficult to treat. Therapies may include medications, physical therapy, and biofeedback. Antibiotics haven’t been shown to help with painful bladder syndrome.
